My 2021 Goals
My 2021 Goals
Happy New Year readers! I hope you all had a lovely and safe New Year.
2020 was a whirlwind, wasn’t it?
I don’t tend to set myself resolutions. Instead I set myself goals. I’m forever setting myself goals, it doesn’t take a new year for me to set new goals for myself.
I turn 25 this year! Which terrifies me.. I don’t know where the time is going! I can’t believe it’s 2021. Since I turn 25 this year, I really want to focus on goals that will improve myself. I feel like I should have my life together at 25. Maybe I’m putting too much pressure on myself? Setting goals is so healthy for the mind. It keeps me motivated and gives me something to work towards and I think it’s so important to work on yourself.
So what are my 2021 goals?
Buy A House
My main goal this year is to buy a house with my Fiancé. We have been saving for years now and we’re finally ready to make the step. I’m so excited for us to buy our first home – we both still live at home so it will be amazing to finally have our own space. I’m excited to decorate and make our own little comfy home to nest in every night. I’m looking forward to cooking and baking too. I love cooking and I’m going to experiment with so many recipes. It will be so much fun to meal plan, buy furniture and get a cat or two! We are going to start house hunting in April.
I love reading. It’s the best self care activity and it completely relaxes me. I could spend hours lost in a book. I don’t just want to read my favorite genre, fiction either. I want to read spiritual books, books about culture, books about true crime, music books and history. I just want to fill myself with knowledge.
My Fiancé got me the Game Of Throne book set for Christmas and I’m already half way through the first book.
Spend Less Time On My Phone
Fun fact about me.. I actually hate technology and phones! If I could get away with having an old brick phone and not a smart phone, I would. I hate how everyone is glued to their phones. It wastes so much time and I feel like the human race is just wasting away into their phones, scrolling through social media and it’s only going to get worse. I want to spend my life more present, not glued to my phone. Which will be hard for me as I do tend to blog using my phone but I’m going to dedicate my desk as my work space and work more from my desk.
Improve Speaking Greek
Last year we started learning Greek and this year we really want to improve. We plan on visiting one of the Greek islands this year again (If all goes to plan!) So we want to be at a comfortable speaking level ready for our visit. I have actually been practicing so much. I practice daily for at least 30 minutes.
Utilize My Time More
I’ve already said how quickly time seems to be going. Time is precious. I don’t want to waste it. I used to be in a habit of lying around scrolling through my phone for hours or taking a quick nap or spending my time doing things that didn’t add any quality time to my life at all. So I really want to start making every minute count.
Live In The Now
You’re all familiar with the phrase ‘I can’t wait until Friday!’ Or ‘Is it the weekend yet?!’ These are phrases I want to avoid in 2021. I want to live in the moment. In the now. I don’t want to dwell on the past or wish my time away waiting for things that haven’t happened yet. I want to find joy in the current moment. The moments you’re wishing for, will come around. There’s no need to wish your life away. Enjoy the journey, not the destination!
Keep A Bullet Journal
This year I really want to start journaling. My Mum got me a bullet journal for Christmas and I’ve already started to fill it. Journaling helps you to stay mindful. It’s a creative outlet and it’s a way to get your thoughts out in the open. If you’ve had a bad day, writing it down may release some tension. Journaling is a great self care activity. So far I’ve drawn a few sketches, a mood tracker for the year, a mood tracker for the month of January, I’ve written a few diary entries and I’ve written a book review. I’m really enjoying journaling so far. I also love that there’s not a commitment to write in it everyday like a diary.
So those are my 2021 goals. Have you set yourself any goals this year? Share them in the comments. I’d love to know what you’ll be working towards.
I’ll see you on the next post,
