I’ve recently returned from a trip to Devon Cliffs in the UK. It has been a strange and scary year to say the least so a getaway was well needed.
We stayed in the Haven park – We had our own static home for the whole week. Just me and my Fiance and it was lovely. Our own space. A place to cook, snack, nap, watch films and just chill out together. It’s also just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, depending on how brisk you want to walk. I don’t know about you, but there’s something about not having to be anywhere. Not having to check the time. Taking each moment as it comes. Everyday life can sometimes become so fast paced and ‘to the clock.’ I myself like a more laid back approach to life, as I think most people do. There wasn’t a huge amount to do, not at the moment anyway due to the current circumstances. The swimming pool and entertainments were shut but I don’t think we would have made use of them anyway, but we managed to fill our time. We cooked breakfast, visited the beach, played cards, cooked dinner, ordered a takeaway, sat on our balcony area to watch the sunset, lay in on the mornings and relaxed with a few beverages.
My favourite day was when we went down to the beach. We packed a lunch using the leftover Indian we had from the night before, packed a blanket and a few drinks. We set up on the beach and played cards. I went into the sea – it was freezing but so refreshing. It wasn’t the warmest and it was so windy when we were there. It might have something to do with the fact that the park is located on a cliff.
We visited Exmouth the nearby seaside town on the Wednesday – We love mooching around the shops that sell little nick nacks. You know, the shops filled with useless stuff you buy and never use again.
Me and my Fiance love visiting the Haven parks in the UK and they certainly make a good weekend getaway.
Here are a few photos from my trip, enjoy!
