Weekend highlights – Birthday celebrations, monkeys and pies

Last weekend I celebrated my 24th Birthday and I had such an amazing weekend! The weather was good for a change. It usually rains on my birthday, so the warmth and sun was a nice change.

I had the Friday booked off from work. I was booked in for a hair appointment at 10:15 which I was really excited for – I’ve had little trims for the last 4 years but nothing major. This time, I was booked in for a hair colour change and quite a big chop as I had some awful split ends – so this was quite a big change. I was really happy with the results, I’ll be writing a blog post about it this week.

After my hair appointment, I went and sat in my garden enjoying the sun. I drank lemonade and did some writing. My family visited for a few hours too, which was nice. I love it when the family are all together.

On my actual Birthday I booked to go to Trentham monkey forest with my Fiance. This is where you walk around the forest and monkeys walk around you freely. We saw baby monkeys clinging onto their Mother’s, it was the sweetest thing. We walked around the forest and then went to get some lunch from the cafe. I had a tikka chicken sandwich and an oat and raisin cookie, which I could just eat again now!

On the evening we went to the famous pie factory, which has quite the reputation where I’m from – they serve the best pies. I had chicken and mushroom pie and it was amazing!

I finished the weekend with a large glass of gin next to the firepit. I received some lovely gifts and a big bunch of the most beautiful flowers. Overall I had a lovely weekend and was sad for it to end, it went so quickly.

Here are some photos I took –

I hope you enjoyed this post.
See you soon!
